Easy Edible Ice Cream Dough Sensory Play
Freezy, Easy, Edible, Sensory Play!!!
Yes, it looks like every child’s dream ice cream treat, but this has a twist. It’s for play time, it’s to get sticky, it’s to feel the different textures, and it’s for their imagination for an ice cream dough creation.
Easy Edible Peanut Butter Ice-Cream Dough Sensory Play
Of course you can add anything to ice cream dough for play. I choose the cookies and brownies because my kids LOVE cookies and brownies. I added the M&M’s because I knew they’d be fun and who doesn’t love a little chocolate syrup on top?!
Amazingly Easy 2 Ingredient Recipe
A bag of Cookie Mix (any flavor) and 1 cup of water
Mix for 3 minutes on Medium Speed (or by hand until it is fluffy)
Freeze (Takes about 3+ hours)
Add any toppings
You might be asking, “why not just eat/make ice cream”, but this is different. This is to let them play, to let them get messy, to let them feel the different textures of everything.
“What are they learning with this activity?”
They are using their senses, they are using their imagination, they are working together, they are creating.
It has been proven that children that spend time incorporating sensory play into their lives improve cognitively. It also improves their language and social skills. So play on…I always love to incorporate books into our activity.
This is one of our favorite ice cream books.
