Hey Mama! Schoolhouse Planner Review

To start with the cover has a rustic yet charming look. It gives me the feeling of The Little House on the Prairie and I absolutely love those books. This planner is 192 pages of awesomeness. Now I have to tell you when I first received the Hey Mama! Print Schoolhouse Planner 2016-2017 in the mail I was a little unsure. I’m a visual person and I like everything to be pretty, so when I first saw it I felt like it was a little plain looking for my taste. Now you know how the saying goes… You can’t judge a book by its cover – That is totally true for me in this case. When I opened it up, I loved it and now the cover has totally grew on me.

Are you ready to get to planning? I haven’t actually started writing in the planner yet, because it starts with the month of July. I’ve been patiently waiting to get started. I have been checking it out regularly and figuring out what we’ll be using. Let me walk you through the planner so you can learn about all of the things that make it great.

It starts off with 3 full years of monthly Calendars (2016, 2017, 2018) That is great when you need to look at dates quickly. Then it goes into your monthly double page spread. Each month also gives you a notes section for jotting down whatever you desire. I also love the encouraging posts throughout the book.

Towards the middle of the planner you’ll find your double page spreads where you can write down your weekly plan. Listing courses, children and whatever else you like. You’ll also find monthly, semester, and yearly goal sheets. These can be great for charting your children’s progress.

In the back you’ll find a wealth of information, charts, and planning sheets. I am seriously loving this homeschool planner.

Let’s not forget all of the extras: story starter ideas, a timeline of inventions, states and capitals, Presidents and their wives, attendance charts, academic transcripts and plenty of other helpful tools for your school year.

I am sure this planner will be right on our table every day while we homeschool. It is filled with so many great things and it’s laid out perfectly making it so easy to use.
