Teaching colors to children can be as easy as pointing out the colors you see every day. In fact, over the past couple of years, I’ve shared a lot of ways to teach colors. Today I wanted to share a great easy to make learning craft for kids. This DIY Color Activity for Preschool and Toddler age children can make a great busy bag or tray activity.

Color Matching Sticks for kids – The goal is to match the pom-poms to the color dot

Color the circular stickers with the marker colors that match the pom pom colors.

Stick 5 colored stickers on each large popsicle stick (we used these wavy craft sticks). Make some sticks random colors and do some with a pattern for different variations.

Have your child match the colored poms to the correct color dot on the stick to learn colors and patterns. This also makes a great activity for working fine motor skills.

What’s Needed

Directions

1. Color circle stickers with the markers colors that will match the pom colors.

2. Stick 5 colored stickers on each popsicle stick. Make some sticks random colors and do some with a pattern for different variations.

3. Have kids match the colored poms to the correct color dot on the stick to learn colors and patterns.

4. Have fun!

This color activity makes a great busy bag for kids or tray activity
