Bible Study ~ Grapevine Studies: Stick Figuring Through the Bible (Review)
Over the years the boys and I have always enjoyed reading the Bible and exploring the different stories we learn about. We’ve done this mostly on our own, because finding a homeschool bible curriculum to work for all of our children’s ages has been hard to find. When I heard about Grapevine Studies and learned it was a wonderful hands on curriculum for a variety of ages I knew I wanted to try it.
Bible Study ~ Grapevine Studies: Stick Figuring Through the Bible (Review)
I am so excited to share about this new Grapevine Studies, New Testament Overview Part 1 that we are using. My younger elementary aged son is using New Testament 1: Level 1 Birth of John to Jesus’ Ministry. I wish I would have added in the fun traceable version that they have for age 3 and up, but I will definitely be ordering it for Bells. She really enjoyed sitting in and drawing her stick figures with her brother.
Let’s talk about what Grapevine Studies is. Grapevine Studies is the leading Bible curriculum designed to help simplify planning, engage students, and grow disciples. From as young as 3 years old children can learn the major characters and events through hearing the Bible. They can trace stick figures on their traceable sheets and answer age appropriate questions. As they get older, children will use the Read-Draw-Review method. Grapevine Studies will introduce students to more Scripture, basic Bible geography, and how to use Bible study skills. I am very excited to dive into the Bible geography since we have dabbled in that before and my boys loved it.
Did you know that Stick Figuring is an ancient method of teaching? I think it is so cool that they use stick figures and symbols for the kids. I love that Grapevine Studies is all about teaching to the needs of the child. With Little B on the Autism spectrum his needs and understanding are always a top priority. Speaking of children with disabilities this bible curriculum offers the hands on learning so many children need. They also have the ability to write or recite varies different parts of the lessons. Which is a great option to have. I know for us Little B isn’t a fan of writing but can tell me an hour long story, where as my older boys are happy either way. For more information on how to teach the different levels you can visit the How to Teach Page for specifics and great teaching tips.
I love that the company has this great info graphic to give you an idea on how the program works and what the different levels are like.
I received a copy of the New Testament Part 1 Level 1 Birth of John to Jesus’ Ministry Student and Teacher book to use and review. I am now very excited to have found this wonderful children’s bible study and include it in our weekly homeschooling lessons.
