To go along with a fun penguin theme this winter we made this adorable Penguin Craft preschool activity. This is an easy invitation for your child to create a cute penguin. Whether you enjoy themed learning or you’re just having fun with the kids this is an easy craft idea.

If you’re looking for a fun and engaging activity to keep your preschoolers entertained while also learning about fascinating animals, look no further than these penguin crafts and activities! These easy penguin activities are perfect for preschoolers, helping them explore their creativity while also teaching them about these adorable animals.
Penguins are not only cute, but their features make them a favorite during the winter for kids and adults. By creating simple crafts and activities, your preschoolers can make their own penguin, all while learning about them too.
Penguin Craft Preschool Activity: Engaging & Simple Ideas for Little Ones
With just a few supplies, you’ll be able to dive into an afternoon of crafting fun with your preschoolers.
Penguin Craft Supplies
- 1 piece of Black Construction Paper
- 1 piece of White Construction Paper
- 1 piece of Orange Construction Paper
- 2 Google Eyes (We used the larger size)
- Glue (School glue or stick)
There are a couple of different ways to start this craft.
If your child is great at cutting or you want them to practice cutting, start by drawing a large oval on the black construction paper. They can follow the line to cut the penguin body out. Do the same step with your white construction paper with a medium sized oval.
Using the Orange construction paper make 3 hearts (2 small for feet and 1 a little bigger for beak)
Glue the pieces on starting with the black body.
Glue on the eyes. Viola!
Your child has their own special Penguin Craft.
If time is short or you want to do the cutting to have everything ready.
Follow the steps above for cutting all of the pieces and have them ready for an adorable craft your child will love.
They can do the gluing themselves.

Penguin Anatomy for Kids
It would be helpful to have a basic understanding of the penguin anatomy. Plus, we love adding in more hands on learning and themes.
Here are some key features to keep in mind:
- Penguins have a rounded head and a short, tapered beak.
- Their body is covered with black feathers on the back and white feathers on the front.
- They have short, flipper-like wings on their sides and small, webbed feet for swimming.
When you are working with your kids and they are creating thier penguin craft, you can talk to them aout these features.
