USA Crafts for Kids
What you will need to make your Patriotic Kids Blowers is in this picture below. I have what’s needed in list form towards the bottom of the page. Have Fun!
Gather your craft supplies
- Empty Toilet Tube
- Crepe Paper Streamers, Red and White
- Blue and White Acrylic Craft Paint
- Paint Brushes
- Tacky Glue
Using blue paint, and coat the outside of the toilet paper tube and then let them dry.
Next, paint little white stars all over the blue tube. You can do this freehand with a small paintbrush or use a stencil. I used a little sticker stencil. You can also have the children put star stickers all over the tube 🙂 Make sure to let it dry.
Cut pieces of streamers (or have your child cut) about 12 inches long. You will need 3 red and 3 white pieces for each blower.
Put a little line of glue on the top edge of a red streamer and stick it to the inside edge of the tube.
Put a little line of glue on the top edge of a white streamer and stick it to the inside edge of the tube but overlap it about halfway on the red one.
Continue with this pattern until you have all the streamers glued on. Let this dry for about 10 minutes.
Kids Blowers
With your scissors, cut the strips up the center lengthwise until you get to the edge of the tube. Your 6 streamers should now look like 12 thinner pieces.
Hold the tube a little bit away from your mouth and blow, the streamers will blow out like a blower.
