Sensory Play Ideas
There are so many fun ways to use this apple cinnamon play dough. Since it keeps for months, you’ll have lots of time to try all these fun ideas!
Bake Apple Pies
You can use this dough to make your own “apple pies” with canning jar lids and a rolling pin. These little apple pies are perfect for serving at a pretend restaurant or your next teddy bear tea party. Serve with fresh apple juice for a fun role-playing activity with your preschool learners.
Want to add more learning fun to your apple pie adventure? Check out Good-bye Pie by Tim Healy. It’s a great hands-on way to introduce subtraction to preschool and kindergarten learners. The book has adorable pie counters, but you can use your own handmade play dough pies instead.
Apple Building Activity
Another fun hands-on activity for apple cinnamon play dough involves building your own apples. It’s a great way to encourage STEM principles with early learners. Plus, you can encourage toddlers and preschoolers to explore all the different “parts” of an apple.
You’ll need my apple cinnamon play dough, cinnamon sticks, and dry beans. Use the dry beans as “seeds” for your apples and the cinnamon sticks as stems. Let your kids have fun building their own apples with all the parts. It’s a great strewing activity to let kids explore and learn independently too.
Play Dough Mats
Using play dough mats to teach early learning concepts is all kinds of fun for preschool and kindergarten learners! You can use play dough mats to help kids build fine motor skills while learning important early concepts like counting, number and letter identification, and shapes.
