Dirt Coffee Ground Play Dough Kids Love
I think every child loves playing with play dough. I know my kids love it, and when I taught preschool, it was a favorite sensory play activity. Not only is homemade playdough fun, but it’s perfect for building fine motor skills. This Dirt Inspired Coffee Ground Play Dough is great for children that love to play in the dirt. That’s 98% of kids 😉 Your children can grab the bugs, trucks, rocks and whatever else they enjoy for a whole non-messy mud fun.

Dirt Inspired Coffee Ground Play Dough
Safari Toobs animal figures and natural materials are some of our favorite things to play with, so it made perfect sense for us to have a dirt playdough activity. Using your senses is such an important part of learning, so adding that coffee in for scent, texture, and color gives a full sensory experience with this dough.

Cooked playdough is easy, maybe not as easy as no-cook playdough which we make all of the time too. But it’s easy enough to add a few ingredients to a pot and cook it on low while mixing for 5 minutes. Right?!
Make Coffee Playdough for a Hands-On Invitation to Play
First up Add the flour, salt, coffee grounds, Cream of Tartar, water, and oil in a large saucepan.
Remove the warm dough from the saucepan and place it on your counter or mat. Knead the dough for 1-2 minutes until it is well mixed. Let it cool for 5 minutes and then you are ready to play.
These are a few toys that we like to add to our invitation to play with dirt play dough. It’s also great to add nature resources like rocks, flowers, sticks, and pinecones.
