My kids love the movie Cars, and I have to admit I do too. With Mater, Luigi, and Lightning McQueen around I can’t get enough of them myself. If you’ve seen the movie, then you know they are fun and funny. Cars 3 is coming out, so we knew it was time for a fun craft idea to get us in the spirit. These adorable Disney Pixar Cars Popsicle Stick Crafts will have all of the kids excited.

What you will need to make your Luigi and Lightning McQueen Popsicle Stick Crafts is in the picture below. I have what’s needed in list form towards the bottom of the page. Have Fun!

Popsicle stick crafts

Take 8 yellow sticks and lay them out, so they are touching. Cut about one inch of 2 yellow sticks. Do the same for the red sticks.

Using your hot glue gun, glue these 2 shorter sticks across the others about an inch from the top and bottom. This helps secure all of the sticks.

Now take the 6 other yellow sticks and glue them perpendicular to the other sticks on the lower half.

With the blue, white, and black paper, cut out eyes and mouths for your characters. Glue the eyes on the top sticks and the mouth on the bottom half, just like the Cars characters look in the movie.

Repeat all these steps to make the red car.

What’s Needed

16 Red Popsicle Sticks
16 Yellow Popsicle Sticks
Construction Paper–Blue, Black, and White
Hot Glue Gun
Tacky Glue or Glue Stick

Directions
