Using a sharp knife, cut a potato in half and cut an Easter egg design into the potato flesh on each half. Cut about ½ inch into the potato. I would cut the potatoes before calling the kids over for the craft because this takes a few minutes.
I made the mistake of having Bells sit and wait for me at the table, and it took about 5 minutes for me to cut out a few designs. Even though she was excited and patient next time, I will do the cutting first.
Pour your paints out onto a tray or paper plate and brush different colors onto the designs you cut on the potato.
