How to Make Homemade Soap Putty

Here is another one of those super cool easy to make sensory play ideas that make everyone happy. We’re calling it Soap Putty, and it’s the bomb! A child can make this two ingredient recipe and use it for hours of fun. It can be a fun bubble bath dough recipe for your kids to enjoy in the tub too. Homemade Soap Putty

We started out our Soap Dough recipe a year ago when we were enjoying 12 months of sensory play. Soap Dough just came about, and it was awesome.

But since we are always trying out new things to work our hand muscles and have fun with I decided to see what we could do with just a couple of kitchen ingredients.

Another great thing about this recipe is you children can do the whole thing themselves. Here you can see Bells adding the dish soap to the cornstarch.

If your child loves color add a couple of drops of food coloring for a putty that is sure to delight everyone. They will love the feel of this putty.

Dish Soap Putty

Soap Putty Recipe

Ingredients:

 Dish Soap

 Cornstarch

optional: food coloring

 

Directions:

Add 1/4 cup cornstarch to a bowl

Mix in 3 Tablespoons Dish Soap

Optional: Add 2-3 drops of food coloring and Mix

Have fun playing with your homemade Soap Putty

See how cool this putty is in action? A little piece goes a long way so if you are using it as soap keep it in a container and just pull a dime size piece out when you need it.

My daughter decided to wash her animals and give them a bath. It was a major bubble bath, but a lot of fun.

 

I recommend trying out this soap putty. It was a lot of fun and an entirely different sensory experience than play dough.

 

Bells favorite thing to do with the soap putty is to pick it apart into little tiny pieces and use it for soap to make bubbles 🙂
