What is salt painting?
It’s a simple painting method that uses very few ingredients to create beautiful artwork. With the combination of salt, glue, and watercolor, your child will find themselves painting for hours.
Why does salt react with watercolors?
The salt actually reacts with the watercolor by soaking up everything but the color pigments. It’s because of the chemical reaction that makes the process work.
Salt Painting Science
The salt absorbs or soaks up the water through chemical action. Salt can absorb both liquid water and water vapor in the air. Which means any salt painting activity is a Salt Painting Science Experiment.

Pumpkin Story Time
Storytime is one of my favorite things to do with my kids. Reading aloud to kids is a great way to build a strong connection and help them fall in love with books at an early age. Plus, reading aloud to kids is the best way to expand vocabulary, teach early reading skills, and build lifelong readers.
We love reading books about upcoming holidays, so these Halloween favorites are a great way to have fun this October and build literacy skills too.
