Ladybug Math for Preschoolers (Free Printables Count & Clip)
We have been having so much fun with our ladybug unit study. I can’t wait to share all of the fun activities we have been doing. Ladybugs seem like the perfect thing to enjoy and learn about in the spring and summer. I hope these fun count-and-clip cards bring a little sunshine and luck into your days.

Ladybug Counting Cards
Hands-on learning is so important, especially in these early years. Working with clip cards engages the child’s mind and fine motor skills. Your little ones strengthen their hand muscles and use their concentration to open and close the clothespins and count each ladybug dot.

I love the fine motor skills and concentration going on here.

For fun, we painted the clothespins red using liquid glitter watercolors. After they dried, I added the black dots so they were ready to go. This was a fun art activity; kids always love to paint.

Bells has been loving her Ladybug life cycle figures. I will be sharing more on those soon, so make sure you come back for a visit.
Ladybug Counting Activity

If your child is just starting out counting, you will want to start with the first 3 cards (#1-3). As they get more comfortable gradually add to their pile. You can ask, “How many dots does this ladybug (pointing to the card) have? “When they are familiar with the activity, it will be easy for them to do it on their own. Of course, if your child is already a great counter, this activity is perfect for them, too.
I hope you enjoy these cards as much as we do.
