It’s a bittersweet feeling when your youngest baby reaches the preschool age. We’ve been slowly integrating the alphabet into play time and our homeschooling, but we always preferred fun themed activities and hands-on learning ideas for the early years. Of course, as a parent, you want to give them what they need while keeping in mind their readiness and interest to learn the skills. The Magnatab Magnetic Writing Tablet looked like it would be a good fit for our house.
The Magnatab Magnetic Writing Tablet for Preschoolers
Like most parents, I started looking around for products that would help encourage my daughter and become a learning tool that she enjoyed. Thankfully, around the same time I started researching more hands-on learning tools, I was able to partner with a company called Timberdoodle.
As a homeschooling company that began in 1985, Timberdoodle’s primary goal was to create unique and innovative homeschooling products that were fun for both little ones and their parents. Each of their curriculum kits contains some of their favorite products for each age group, but they also give families the ability to go through and pick what products they feel would best benefit their children and fit in with their individual needs.
While working with Timberdoodle, I was given the opportunity to try one of their Kid-O A to Z Magnatab Magnetic Writing Tablets. Geared towards little ones aged 3 and up, the Magnatab is a great tool if you feel your little one is ready to start focusing on forming letters and writing them out. By using the magnetic stylus, your child will be able to easily trace each letter, allowing the little magnetic balls to snap up and complete the letter they’re working on.
Afterward, when they’ve gotten a handle on the letter, they can directly trace their finger across the letter, and the magnetic balls will drop back down into the A to Z Magnatab database. The beauty of this innovative writing tool for kids is that it may only be one simply and fun learning tool but there are two different ways to learn with it, giving your child twice the practice to successfully learn their alphabet and the correct way to write each letter.
In addition to loving how simple and fun the Magnatab has been for my daughter, I also like the safety aspect of this particular learning tool. As a mom, I know how quickly a little one’s curiosity can get the better of them and how everything seems to say “eat me” to young children, but there are no worries about the magnetic balls that are utilized with the Magnatab. They come permanently sealed into the A to Z base, which means that you never have to worry about them.
