Easy Ways to Teach Montessori Culture (Free Printables)
I am so excited to be sharing the 2nd year of the Montessori Learning Series. We love sharing new themes and ideas with you and we are starting this year off with one of our favorites. Montessori Culture! I hope you like these easy ways to teach Montessori Culture and I hope it helps you with your homeschooling. There is also a great free printable for you to download below.
Montessori Culture
Montessori Culture usually covers a variety of subjects. Things that might be included are Geography, Science, Botany, Zoology, History, Art and Music.
I love this excerpt from Child Of The World on teaching Montessori Culture
“This attitude provides a healthy, non-judgmental, non-ethnocentric, non-nationalistic, basis of exploration of peoples of the world.”
Montessori Continent Boxes
Montessori Continent Boxes
The Continent Boxes and learning about different cultures has been a big part of our homeschooling the past couple of years. I think it is so important to learn and explore different parts of the world. These are a great way to store your materials and keep everything organized (I will be sharing more about what’s inside each of our boxes soon).
A Montessori Globe or Map is a very important item to have for your children. It is important for them to be able to look places up, to touch them and get a feel for where places are in the world. Flags are another wonderful thing to have for the children. Bells has been loving learning the flags and can already name several of them. It is so much fun to see how excited the kids are learning about the world that they live in.
This Kids World Dry Erase Map is not the Montessori colors but still so cool.
Exploring Different Cultures Through Music
Exploring Music and instruments is a fun favorite for kids.
Including Animals/Zoology into your culture studies is perfect for little ones try out these Animal Habitats and Animal Themed Ideas.
Exploring different types of foods is a fun and easy way to include different types of culture. You might like The International Cookbook for Kids and Cool World Cooking: Fun and Tasty Recipes for Kids! Getting kids cooking in the kitchen has so much value. They are learning valuable practical life skills and getting to spend quality time with you. Yay!
When preparing to teach Montessori Culture or if you are already teaching it think of songs, musical instruments, books, dances, clothing, animals, types of flowers, monuments or buildings, and other important aspects that you can include.
Are you ready to get started teaching Montessori Culture? These Continent cards and labels can get you started in creating wonderful continent boxes to explore with your children. Enjoy!
