Movement Activities for Little Rabbits
A Montessori inspired rabbit themed lesson plan from Natural Beach Living just wouldn’t be complete without movement activities. I’m a big fan of getting kids of all ages out of their seats and engaging in healthy physical activities as part of our learning experience.
Here are some great movement activities for little rabbits:
Bunny Says
Similar to “Simon Says” in this rabbit themed version, your preschoolers will do as “bunny says.” You can choose to be the bunny directing your preschoolers in fun and healthy activities like hopping on one foot or designate a student to be the bunny for even more fun. This game isn’t just a great way to get moving, it’s perfect for practicing following directions and building gross motor skills too.
Rabbit Gymnastics
Did you know rabbits are excellent gymnasts? These movement activities, it’s 100% true! Your preschoolers are going to have a lot of fun doing rabbit gymnastics this spring.
You can encourage healthy physical activity and build gross motor skills with these simple gymnastics moves:
Bunny Hops
Balancing on one foot
Forward Rolls
Crawling through bunny tunnels
Easter Bunny Yoga
Get ready for a yoga adventure! Practicing yoga and mindfulness with your preschoolers is a great way to build confidence, increase memory, improve focus, and reduce anxiety. This spring, go on a yoga adventure with Cosmic Kids Yoga and Mr. Hoppit the Hare to build motor skills, encourage mindfulness, and get healthy.
