This month as part of the 12 months of Montessori learning we are sharing Montessori math ideas and lessons. This series has been so great for everyone and I hope you continue to join us each month. It’s almost fall here which is such a lovely time of the year and the perfect time to collect natural materials to use. So we did what we love and we took our learning outside. Montessori Math with Pumpkins and acorns is perfect for fall hands-on learning.

Fall Montessori Math with Pumpkins and Acorns
12 Months of Montessori Learning
Maria Montessori believed that in order to understand mathematics, education needs to connect the hand and the mind.
The fall is such a great time to take your learning outside. You can incorporate acorns, leaves, pinecones, rocks, or anything else you find. By incorporating a love for indoor and outdoor learning this will start to come naturally for you. If it doesn’t already. Start collecting natural materials while you are on a nature walk. They are perfect to use for a nature table, math manipulatives, and of course loose parts.
You can download this free pumpkin printable below. Make sure you click over to our apple counters too. It’s always fun to switch up materials occasionally and they are free. Yay!!

I like to Laminate a lot of printables which makes them last so much longer. You can see The Best Homeschool Essentials Here. These items make my life and homeschooling so much easier.

What a great way to integrate a theme. And I love the picture of your spindle box. Using pencils is a brilliant idea!

I love these activities — they are so simple yet important especially in a pre-math age. You can use any type of counters, and the printables keep things fresh and fun for them.
I love how simple and beautiful this natural Montessori math presentation is! I get lost in the complexity of Montessori at times. 😉 Thanks for the awesome printable!
I love the idea of collecting items in nature to use as counters. What a fabulous idea! Perhaps the kiddos and I will start to do that as we go for our walk this month.
