Preschool Geography – Exploring Food Around the World
Have your children learned that yummy foods come from all over the world? One of my favorite things about homeschooling is learning and working together throughout the day. That means practical life activities like cooking have become a normal part of my kids life. Today I am sharing how we have used our Little Passports subscription for Preschool Geography and learning about foods around the world. It’s been one of Bella’s favorite months so far.
Preschool Geography & Exploring Food Around the World
As always we started our month using the Early Explorers suitcase. The kids love having their own carrying case where they get to store stickers, postcards, keepsakes and whatever else they want. They like adding the monthly luggage tag and stickers so everyone can see all of the places they’ve learned about.
Bells really enjoys the activity book that comes each month. She must have looked at it everyday…
The adventures with Max, Mia and Toby have helped us to have a very exciting year and explore preschool geography in a fun hands on way.
Mini Veggie Frittatas
Our Mini Frittata Recipe:
6 Large Cage Free Eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/4 tsp. salt (we use Himalayan pink salt)
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 cup Italian cheese
chopped veggies (you can cook or sauté veggies ahead of time if you prefer them much softer)
optional: veggie bacon
Instructions:
Spray muffin tin or use liners
Whisk eggs, milk, salt and pepper together in bowl
Pour or Spoon Egg Mixture into Muffin tin (leave room for veggies and cheese)
Add a few veggies and a pinch of cheese to each cup
Cook on 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 Minutes.
Enjoy!
We visited our favorite local Pizza restaurant and watched them cook pizza in a brick oven. Loved it!
We also explored spices from around the world and talked about what everyone eats with… The kids thought it was cool to learn that some people eat with their hands on a regular basis.
The Foods Around the World memory game from Early Explorers is so much fun too 🙂 We all enjoyed looking at the pictures and learning what the different foods are and where they are from.
Bells has really enjoyed this month of learning about different places and their foods.
