When you read to your child during their early learning age, such as newborn through toddler years, they start to recognize shapes and colors. With storybooks that have many pictures and textures, the child begins to notice what shapes and colors are simply from the act of you reading to them while they sit on your lap.

This builds your child’s intellectual side as they remember shapes and colors without much pressure to learn.

As your child grows and you’ve read to them on a regular basis, they’ll start to recognize new words, and as they begin to talk, their word usage may be advanced.
