Easy Sunflower Art for Kids – Sunflower Craft Ideas
Our Sunflower journey started a year or two ago when we began reading books like Van Gogh and The Sunflowers and Katie and The Sunflowers. We also visited a lovely and huge Sunflower garden where we picked Sunflowers to bring home and enjoy. If you ever have the chance to walk through a massive sunflower garden, I hope you do it. It’s such a lovely place to be.

How to Make Sunflower Crafts for Kids
Start by drawing a round circle towards the top of the page. This will be your guide to put the petals around. You can use a paper plate or bowl to trace your circle or freehand it.
Squeeze the toilet paper roll just a little to make an oval shape. Dip in the end in the yellow paint and stamp on the outside of the circle. Continue going around the circle until you have your sunflower shape.
Have your child use the paintbrush to paint each petal in yellow.
Next, draw a stem and leaf with the green paint.
After the paint dries, have your child use a glue stick to rub glue on the inside of the flower then press on sunflower seeds to the center of the flower.
Let your child’s beautiful sunflower dry for several hours.
This Van Gogh inspired Sunflower project makes everyone happy. You can make this a fun summer craft idea or part of a complete artist study for kids. There is so much creativity that can come out when you share stories and real hands-on activities with your children.
