Teaching Preschool Letter N
Alphabet learning can be so much fun. We have been enjoying a letter of the week style of preschool so far this year. It has been a blast planning things for the week and just watching him engage in so many fabulous things. This week is letter N and we will be exploring nests and nature. Come along, I think you’re going to love it.

Teaching Preschool Letter N for Nature
“They must be let alone, left to themselves a great deal, to take in what they can of the beauty of earth and heavens.”

The nature table is always a wonderful place to be. Little B explores Nuts and Nests, among a lot of other treasures that we collected on our nature walk.
Writing practice for Little B in his letter N notebook. (Printables from Confessions of a Homeschooler preschool curriculum)
Baby Bell is the baby bird in our Nest of Numbers. Little B hopped around like a birdie counting his numbers 1-20. Talk about fun, he did this for a good 30 minutes.
Sensory play included all things that have to do with a Nest. We added bird seed, Binoculars, a bird whistle, eggs, bird toys, and a scoop for extra fun.
You might want to explore some of the Crinkleroot’s books. They are all wonderful!
We went searcing for Nests in our yard and found several, including this Blue Jay nest right off our deck.
The last of our exploring Nature for the week was a field trip to our neighborhood pond.
Exploring Nature is always one of our favorite things to do. I love being able to incorporate it into learning. If you would like some ideas on homeschooling preschoolers or Nature Studies you can check out my Pinterest boards here and here.
We are ready for our next letter. I hope you will join us again for alphabet learning.
