Keyword: Dinosaur Playdough Recipe
Ingredients
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 Tablespoons cream of tartar
  • 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 Your favorite prehistoric food colors I used AmeriColor chocolate brown, slate, and turquoise
Instructions
  1. Add the flour, salt, and cream of tartar to a large mixing bowl. Whisk to combine. Set aside.
  2. Pour the water and vegetable oil into a large saucepan and stir well. Add the flour mixture and whisk until there are no lumps remaining.
  3. Place the pan on the stove and stir continuously over medium heat until a thick ball of dough is formed. Remove from heat.
  4. Allow the dough to cool for 5 minutes and divide into 3 even pieces. Add a few drops of food coloring to each piece.
  5. Knead each piece of dough to soften and distribute the color. You may find it easier for your kids to use a sealed plastic bag when kneading to eliminate any mess from the coloring.
  6. Now you have brown, grey and turquoise colored playdough for hours of dinosaur fun! Brown playdough can be used for the land, grey playdough can be used for rocks and the turquoise playdough can be used for water!
  7. **Store in an airtight plastic Ziploc bag for up to 1 month.
