Homemade Grinch Playdough
Ingredients
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 tbsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 3-5 drops Red and green food coloring
Instructions
  1.  Add the flour, salt, and cream of tartar to a medium mixing bowl and whisk to combine.
  2. Add the warm water and oil to a medium saucepan. Stir well to mix.
  3. Slowly pour half of the flour mixture into the water and whisk to combine. Add the remaining flour and whisk until most of the lumps have disappeared.
  4. Place the saucepan on the stovetop under medium heat. Stir constantly until a thick lump of dough forms. (It will look like lumpy mashed potatoes). Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough in half (or a little more for the green playdough) and place 4-5 drops of green food coloring on top of one of the dough balls. Place in a Ziplock-type bag, seal and knead the bag for 5 minutes to distribute the color. This is a mess-free way for kids to color their homemade playdough!
  6.  Place 4-5 drops of red food coloring on top of the remaining dough ball and place in a plastic bag. Seal the bag and knead for 5 minutes to distribute the red color.
  7. Store the playdoughs in a sealed airtight plastic bag for up to one month.
  8. Have a Merry Grinchmas!
