This is a wonderful guide of some of our favorite Montessori inspired items that we love to incorporate into our preschool learning. Maria Montessori was such an inspiration and her philosophy for children is among the best of all times. Here at Natural Beach Living we use a variety of different methods. We feel that our family as a whole can get a lot out of meshing Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio and Charlotte Mason into our days.

Children from birth to age six are in their sensory period, they are exploring the world through their senses. Sensorial experiences prepare the child for later learning in language, math, art, and more.
Give them a taste of geography. Let them explore books, cultures, flags, continents, and more. It will excite them and they will want to know more.
Language arts is developed through a variety of materials, reading, writing, and oral communication.
Montessori math uses manipulatives so the child can internalize the concepts. I have always been a big believer in hands-on activities.
Personally, I don’t feel that you need everything to have a “prepared environment”. If you make great choices for works and activities at home, then you will have a wonderful environment that promotes a love for learning. Isn’t that really our goal?
