With all of the concern for catching a virus, this is an excellent project for kids as well as adults since the project can be expanded to include a discussion about hygiene and disinfection.

How to Make DIY Hand Sanitizer Gel

Start with adding your ¼ cup of quality aloe gel.

10 to 20 drops of a germ fighting blend of essential oils, we use this one: Plant Therapy Essential Oils Germ Fighter Synergy

2 tablespoons of Isopropyl Alcohol, CDC lists at least 60% is needed to kill germs and bacteria.

Tube or bottle to keep it in, I picked this 3oz one up in the travel section of Target, but I’ve also used 4 oz Mason Jars too.

Knowing the tube we were using is 3 oz and I needed ¼ or 2oz of aloe, I simply filled the tube about 2/3rds full, added the alcohol and oil and then shook it up.

We really like using the Plant Therapy oils and our kids do well with it.
