Flower Science Activities for Preschool and Kindergarten
Over the past couple of years we have been learning all about flowers and plants. The children have drawn flowers in their journal, taken hundreds of nature walks, and enjoyed growing their own flowers.

This is a wonderful hands-on flower experiment to start teaching your children about flowers and how they thrive.
You’ll want to start with white flowers. We chose daisies this time because they are sweet and remind us of spring.
Cut the ends of the stem to fit your vase, and so your flowers can absorb the water better.
Have your child add the food color to each vase.
Squeezing the bottles works your child’s hand muscles which is perfect for building fine motor skills.

Observing and Enjoying color changing flowers
A week later the flowers are full of life and the children are really enjoying watching them change daily.
Enjoy the flower changing process and spend time talking to your children about what they see.
This is always a lovely flower experiment that everyone can enjoy. The daisies took about 10 days to show full color change, but it was worth the wait.
