What you will need to make your Grinch Playdough is in this picture below. However, I have it displayed in list form to print out towards the bottom of the page. Have Fun!
How to Make Playdough
Add the flour, salt, and cream of tartar to a medium mixing bowl.
Whisk it all to combine.
Add the warm water and oil to a medium saucepan. Stir well to mix.
Slowly pour half of the flour mixture into the water and whisk to combine. Add the remaining flour and whisk until most of the lumps have disappeared.
Place the saucepan on the stovetop under medium heat. Stir constantly until a thick lump of dough forms. (It will look like lumpy mashed potatoes). Remove from heat and allow your playdough to cool for 5 minutes.
Divide the dough in half (or a little more for the green playdough) and place 4-5 drops of green food coloring on top of one of the dough balls. Place 4-5 drops of red food coloring on top of the remaining dough ball and place in a plastic bag.
Place your dough in a Ziplock-type bag, seal and knead the bags for a few minutes to distribute the color. This is a perfect mess-free way for kids to color their homemade playdough!
Store the playdoughs in a sealed airtight plastic bag for up to one month.
