Change things up

Having the same schedule day in and day out can be boring. The way you make homeschooling fun is by changing things up. Go on fieldtrips, get hands-on, and just enjoy the lessons. You surely don’t have to let boringness play a role in homeschooling. You can see what our daily homeschooling looks like here.

Let your kids be kids

The fun of homeschooling gets stripped away when we don’t let our kids be kids. There is just something fun about being a kid, which is something we need to remember. You can help your kids have fun while homeschooling by letting them be kids.

Get together with friends

You and I both know that homeschooling can be a lonely road sometimes. Inviting friends over has been an awesome part of our homeschooling journey. Plus, it switches things up for our kids. Our friends have always been an awesome part of our homeschooling lifestyle.

Know how your kids learn best

I have talked about this before, but all kids learn differently. One child may do well at reading books or watching videos to learn. Another child may be learn easily by independent study or through a hands on experiment. Keep your kids on their toes and let them have fun while homeschooling.

Get rid of the busy work

Your kids are homeschooled, they don’t need to do the busy work all of the time. Make learning count by focusing on learning new things or spending more time on something they love. If they have already aced a concept, what is the point of spending hours and hours doing it?

Make the lessons fun

One thing I have concentrated on this year is making our lessons fun. I can do that when I have awesome tools like Tiggly Math! This is a concept that uses math toys and your tablet. Kids get to have fun while they learn and I love this part of Tiggly Math . My kids warmed right up to this app and it has been a staple in our homeschooling curriculum for preschoolers. Another way to make lessons fun is by using Tiggly Words. Teaching your child to read is a big responsibility. My kids agree that Tiggly Words helps to make learning to read FUN.

In Tiggly Words, children place sturdy colorful vowels on a tablet screen to make words while pictures of those words pop up on the screen.. It comes with 5 vowel manipulatives that have touch points so your tablet reacts to them just like your child’s fingertips. My kids are loving this app too.

The Recommended age for Tiggly Words and Tiggly Math is 4-8 years old

You can find it sold separately and as part of the Timberdoodle Pre-K Curriculum Kit
