Use craft glue to wrap and attach the craft paper around the tin can. Make sure to cover the outer surface of the whole tin can.
Fill the tin can with small pebbles, stones or soil.
Trace the template patterns on different colored craft papers and cut them out. The template includes – rainbow base, six arch-shaped borders for six colors of the rainbow, cloud, pot of gold base and pot of gold. You can also just have your children color the template and cut it out to use.
Stick the six arches shaped cutouts on the rainbow base and glue the gold pot on the round cut out
Apply gold glitter on the pot base part which is visible from the top side to make it look like a pot of gold. Stick the cloud cut out on either open end side of the rainbow. Now stick the rainbow-cloud and the pot of gold on popsicle sticks.
Prepare popsicle sticks to make a mini ladder. You will need two popsicle sticks for the sides of the ladder and 5 or 6 small sticks (by cutting the popsicle sticks in 1/2) for the stairs of the ladder.
Paint the popsicle sticks and allow the paint to dry.
Place the two longer popsicles on a flat surface, parallel. Keep a small gap between both of the sticks. Glue the little sticks on, making a ladder.
I’ve shared a few different options for this step – Prepare needle and thread and thread pompoms/wooden beads/ seed beads into it. You can also cut out small triangle shapes from colored craft paper and glue them on sticks or use a piece of thread to make a mini paper bunting.
Check to make sure all of your items for the mini leprechaun garden are ready.
