5 different colored felt sheets (you can use less or more that is up to you)
Between 6-8 Medium sized Buttons and thread.
Wiggle Eyes are optional (you can also cut out felt eyes)
First I freehand cut the dark brown for the turkey.
I used a tan colored felt for the body (cut in a peanut shape) I added the face with cut felt parts and wiggle eyes. I would suggest using Spray Adhesive to glue your pieces together.
Cut out 6-10 turkey feathers in different colors putting a small slit towards the bottom (make sure the button will fit through your hole)
Sew the buttons on or if you have an older child they can help with assembling the whole turkey.
Your button turkey is ready to go. You can also use this as a fun busy bag.

What a great way to practice buttoning skills around Thanksgiving! The turkey is adorable!
We have a button dressing frame, but it’s big buttons, and my son needs practice with smaller ones. So, I made him a turkey today (and one for a friend of his… I already had the felt out), and he is using it right now. It’s the perfect thing – just challenging enough for him to practice and keep his interest. And he loves turkeys 🙂 Thanks for the great idea!
YAY!!!!! Thanks for telling me 🙂 that made my day. I’m so glad he loves it.
This is the cutest turkey craft ever! I am in love with this idea! Also, your daughter’s curly hair is gorgeous, especially in the sunshine. Pretty girl!
