How to Make Sharpie Tie Dye Shirts
Sharpies are a common choice for drawing on fabrics. They work great and are easy to use.
These Tie Dye T Shirts make a fun summer activity or school project.
Sharpie Tie Dye
What you will need to make these awesome Sharpie Tie Dye Shirts is in this picture below. I have what’s needed with the full recipe displayed in list form towards the bottom of the page.
Sharpie Tie Dye
Lay out the t-shirt, and stick a piece of paper or parchment paper inside it. Draw zigzag designs across the front leaving a thin white strip in between each color. Your kids can make any designs they want.
Pour some alcohol into the spray bottle, and spray a good layer over all the colors. The more you soak it, the more it will spread. This time the kids only wanted them spreading a little, but I like going crazy with spreading the colors 😉
Wait about 5 minutes and if the colors aren’t spreading as much as you like, spray another quick coat over it.
To finish them up Wait about 30 minutes for the color to be done spreading and let dry. When they are almost completely dry throw it in the dryer for about 20 minutes to let the color set.

- Rubbing Alcohol
- Small Spray Bottle
