This craft is perfect for a Dr. Seuss party idea that will have all your preschoolers excited and ready to create. There’s no denying that The Lorax is such a cute character, and an important one, from the book!
Puppets are great but when you can easily create your own puppet, why not? Using a paper bag is a really easy way to create a hand puppet in just moments.
Plus, it gives you a big giant Lorax that every child is going to love making talk and act. This puppet craft not only inspires creativity but it also brings out their imagination as well.
Pair it up with a reading of The Lorax book and you’ve created quite a fun-filled afternoon.
The Lorax Preschool Craft
What you will need to make your paper bag puppet is in this picture below. However, I have it displayed in a recipe list form to print out towards the bottom of the page. Have Fun!
Gather up the simple supplies listed below to get started:
- Orange paper bag
- Quick dry tacky glue or school glue
- Lorax Template
How to Make The Lorax Paper Bag Craft
Once you have everything handy and have printed off your free Lorax Template, it’s time to start creating The Lorax craft.
Start by printing The Lorax template file of your choosing.
If you’re printing with a cutting machine make certain to upload the correct file to your software. Resize the images to fit 6 ½ inches wide. Once done, select to print and cut.
Be aware that the SVG and EPS files are in black and white. If you choose to print in color, you will need to set those colors within your software manually.
If you’re not using a cutting machine, all you need to do is print a copy of the template and trace it on cardstock or construction paper. (either way works out perfectly)
Once you have it traced, go ahead and cut the pieces apart.
