Halloween Spider Web Cookie Cake

Ingredients
  • 1 ¾ C oatmeal
  • 1 ½ C flour
  • 1 C brown sugar
  • ¾ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¾ C canola oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 C chocolate chips
  • ½ C caramel sauce
  • ½ C chocolate sauce
Vanilla Frosting
  • 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter softened
  • 2 C powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp heavy whipping cream
Extra's
  • Two disposable piping bags
  • Black gel food coloring
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray an 8-inch round cast iron with Pam Baking Spray
  2. Using a standing mixer, beat the oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, canola oil, eggs, and vanilla and beat until combined
  3. Fold in the chocolate chips
  4. Press the dough into the cast iron
  5. Bake in the oven for about 20-30 minutes or until a light golden brown
  6. Allow to cool completely on the counter
  7. Drizzle the caramel and chocolate sauce on top
Making the frosting
  1. Using a standing mixer, beat the butter, powdered sugar, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla until combined and stiff peaks. About 5 minutes mixing
  2. Divide the frosting into two bowls
  3. Mix a few drops of the black food coloring into one bowl and mix until combined
  4. Scoop into the piping bag and scoop the white frosting into the second piping bag. Cut the tips off
  5. Using the black frosting, pipe out the detail of a spider web by creating an X
  6. Pipe a --- through the middle of the X to create a star
  7. Pipe half circles in between each line to create the web
  8. Using the white frosting, outline the web to create a 3D effect
  9. Using the black frosting, pipe out some spiders to go on the web
