Fall Literacy Activities
Reading is one of the most important skills we can teach our children. There are lots of ways we can encourage our preschool and kindergarten children to build important literacy skills. For example, did you know that reading to children is one of the best ways we can encourage them to love books and help establish a lifelong reading habit? It’s true!
Fall Themed Montessori Alphabet Printable
The Montessori method encourages children to learn the phonetic sounds of the alphabet rather than simply memorizing letter names. You can use the fall-themed Montessori alphabet printable in this preschool activity pack to help you practice phonetic sounds with your preschoolers.
Have children find objects around the house to match each letter block card.
Printable Word Tracing Cards
Did you know that students are better readers when they can better write letters? There’s a strong connection between a person’s hand and their brain. You can help your preschool and kindergarten learners strengthen that connection through handwriting practice which will lead to more reading fluency and, over time, overall reading development.
In this Fall printable activity pack for preschool learners, you’ll find word tracing cards your early learners can use to practice writing some fun Fall themed words in order to build handwriting and early literacy skills this season.
Fine Motor Skills Activities
Fine motor skills are essential for building critical handwriting skills, but they’re also important for a variety of important tasks like buttoning, zippering, and even feeding yourself. It’s important for preschool learners to grasp fine motor skills in order to develop dexterity and strength in their finger and wrist muscles for completing these important tasks.
Strong fine motor skills help children develop proper pencil grip and, eventually, legible penmanship.
There are lots of ways you can help your preschool and kindergarten learners build strong fine motor skills. In this Fall themed activity pack, you’ll find some fun activity printables you can share with your little learners to encourage fine motor skills like fall themed lacing cards and prewriting practice pages.
Fall Montessori Math Activities
Math is a hands-on subject when it is taught in the Montessori way. Children are given concrete materials to learn early math concepts in order to help children build a real understanding of numbers they can draw from later when math is more complex.
To help your preschool learners begin to love math, ensure they are familiar with numbers, and confident in their math abilities. This fall Montessori activities pack includes themed counting cards, a 100’s chart, and cards with the names of the numbers.

Preschool and kindergarten learners need to move, a lot! In fact, movement activities are actually an essential part of your preschooler’s gross motor development. It’s important to focus on physical development as well as academic development with your early learners this Fall. Fall Movement Activities
To get started using this movement cube with your preschoolers, simply print, fold along the dotted lines, and tape or glue the cube together. Before you get started, give your preschoolers a chance to explore the cube first. This will allow them to ask questions about the movements and do a “trial run” before you begin.
When you’re ready, take turns tossing the Fall movement cube. Then, everyone can participate in the action displayed on top of the cube (similar to a die). I’ve included images on every face of the movement cube to help your preschool learners remember which action they need to do.
Plus, all the movements are themed to match the Fall season. Your preschoolers are going to love the “drop like an acorn” movement. It’s a big favorite at our house!
