I’m excited to share my favorite ways to talk about kindness and help your kids develop their social-emotional skills this November.

Reading books together about showing kindness and gratitude is a great way to spark a conversation all about being kind with your students or family this Thanksgiving. Beautiful picture books are fun to share with your family this season or read aloud in class. 

Plus, they make it easy to introduce important topics.

One of my favorite kindness activities for Thanksgiving is counting our blessings. Focusing on what we are thankful for is a great place to begin showing gratitude and kindness to others. There are many ways to do this, but the kindness tree is one of the best!

Family Random Acts of Kindness Challenge

Another fun idea is to engage your family in random acts of kindness challenge. Completing the random acts of kindness challenge is fun for everyone. It’s also a great way to encourage kids to be kind by focusing on all the little ways we can be kind to others throughout the day.
