The best thing is you can fill it up with your child’s favorite art supplies and switch things out to keep them creating new exciting masterpieces.

Easy to Set up Art Supply Cart for Kids

To start with think about your space. I wanted something that would hold a good amount of art supplies but was easy to move around. I also wanted to make sure it was comfortable for the kids to reach in and get whatever they needed. This art cart from Michaels was perfect for us (you can also use the cart from IKEA and Amazon). They are all pretty similar in size.

As you can see in some of our pictures we like to do art everywhere. Sometimes we enjoy taking the cart outside on our deck, other times we will sit on the grass, the beach, and of course, we use it often in our sunroom.

I purchased a few matching containers from Michaels and Target.

The magnetic containers on the side are from the Dollar store (they are excellent for pom poms, googly eyes, and small craft supplies). You can use these Magnetic Spice Jars too which would be perfect.

Our kids love painting on Canvas and using art kits, so we have a few of those activities ready to go in a larger container. You can also put art books, paper, sketch pads, whatever your children are enjoying right now.

We also keep empty glass jars in the cart for water and rinsing brushing. This way your children can fill the jar up with water themselves and enjoy painting.
