Directions for This Easy DIY Button Christmas Tree:
I used two different colored felt (you can use less or more; that is up to you). I planned to cut different colored circles for the button ornaments, but Bells wanted glitter. So I went with white felt circles that she decorated herself.
Between 8-12 Medium sized Buttons and thread. Bella likes colors, so we went with a variety of colors. You could choose to do everything in red and green, making a festive holiday tree.
First, I freehand cut the large green tree. This was easy. sharp scissors make a huge difference 😉
I would suggest using Spray Adhesive if you plan on using glitter. The spray adhesive dries clear and doesn’t leave any bumps. It also works great with felt.
Cut out 8-12 circles in different colors putting a small slit in the middle (make sure the button will fit through your hole). See above how we did it.
Sew the buttons on, or if you have an older child, they can help with the cutting and sewing.
Your DIY button tree is ready to go. You can easily use this as a fun holiday busy bag.
