Jelly Bean Activities
Jelly Bean Science Experiment
This is one simple Science experiment that the kids are going to love! Being able to use water and jelly beans to see a change in the way colors look and see the beauty of the colors running together is a fun experiment to see.
Plus, this is one that can be done over and over again! As long as you have jelly beans and water, this experiment can happen in an instant.
We love to do this activity with some of our jelly beans from Easter because it never fails that we have quite a few jelly beans around Easter time. But, if you don’t have any jelly beans try skittles instead.
Jelly Bean STEM Experiment
What you will need to have a Jelly Bean Science Experiment is in the picture below. However, I have it displayed in a recipe list form to print out towards the bottom of the page. Have Fun!
How to Make Jelly Bean Science
Supplies needed:
- Jellybeans
- Water (I used room temperature)
- Plate
Place jellybeans in a circle on a plate. Any color pattern works so have fun mixing
it up and doing different ones. (You can even do this several times and change up the color patterns, too!)
Slowly pour the water onto the middle of the plate until it’s under the jellybeans.
Jelly Bean Experiment Chemistry
Let sit and wait for the colors to appear in just a few minutes.
Have Fun!!
Science Activities for Kids
As you can tell, the colors start to rub off the jelly beans and create a really cool look as well. Beautiful rainbow colors with pastels and a really cool science experiment.
Talk to your children about why they think that the water was able to do this and see what their thoughts are.
Science Experiments for Preschoolers
Then once this is done, why not do it over and over again?
