There is a book on this list for every parent to enjoy whether you are a new parent or you’ve been raising kids for many years; you’ll find great books here. If you are interested in Maria Montessori’s philosophy and education style or you love the idea of raising a child in a Montessori home, you’ll love these.

The Best Montessori Books for Parents
I want to start with Dr. Montessori’s Own Handbook
The Kindle Version isn’t the best but it’s free and worth the read or at least to have to check out on occasion.
Another great book to have to refer to is Maria Montessori: Her Life and Work. These might not be your everyday reads, but I do think they are wonderful if you would like to understand the how and why’s into Montessori. The Secret of Childhood is another fantastic book by Maria Montessori.
One of my all time favorites is The Joyful Child: Montessori, Global Wisdom for Birth to Three. Perfect book for raising children through 3 years of age.
I really loved the book Montessori from the Start: The Child at Home, from Birth to Age Three. It’s easy to read and gives you a great understand at how to incorporate Montessori into your home and for infants on up.
Normally I wouldn’t pick a DK book as a book for Parents, but this one is great. Packed with Montessori-based preschool activities and educational games that build confidence and independence through hands-on learning.
We are big fans of Living Math too (heard a lot in the Charlotte Mason education) – I love how Mr. John Bowman used common items to help parents teach their children math. This book shows you how to make the most of the sensitive period and give your child a good foundation of math skills.
Not specific to Montessori but a wonderful Parenting book is Simplicity Parenting: Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and More Secure Kids.
I’m including this in our list for Montessori books for parents because it’s a GREAT Parenting book. Clutterfree with Kids: Change your thinking. Discover new habits. Free your home. Clutterfree with Kids helps us to change our thinking, discover new habits, and free our homes from stuff we don’t need. It’s inspiring and might help you set up and enjoy a Montessori friendly home.
