How Do You Teach the Alphabet?
Teaching children the alphabet is an essential first step in developing literacy skills for reading. Before your children can combine sounds or write words, they can learn to say the alphabet. Learning to sing the alphabet song and identify the uppercase and lowercase alphabet letters is essential for early learners.
Thinking about how to teach the alphabet to your kiddos can be a bit confusing.
How do you teach a concept that seems to come naturally? Don’t worry. Teaching the alphabet to children can be both simple and lots of fun.
I like to start by reading books. Reading aloud to early learners helps them make connections between the words we speak and written words.
