We made a fingerprint thankful tree and loved them. If you have older children, they can write what they are thankful for on the branches or around the tree. This is an excellent activity for the whole family.
“Thanksgiving is the holiday of peace, the celebration of work, and the simple life… a true folk-festival that speaks the poetry of the turn of the seasons, the beauty of seedtime and harvest, the ripe product of the year – and the deep, deep connection of all these things with God.”
~ Ray Stannard Baker
Fingerprint Painting a Thankful Tree
This Thanksgiving fingerprint painting activity is the perfect Fall sensory learning experience for toddlers and preschoolers. Plus, it’s fun for older children too! I promise, no matter how old your kids are, you’re going to treasure this precious fingerprint painting for many Thanksgivings to come.
Not only will this painting activity give you a memorable craft to keep for years, but it’s also a great opportunity for kids to explore their senses and engage in a tactile activity that can help them build fine motor skills for handwriting, explore color mixing, and learn more about their own senses of sight and touch.
Bells enjoyed fingerprint painting with fall colors, and all of the trees look beautiful hanging up on display for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Coloring Pages
Coloring pages are always fun. Whether you print out several for the kids to do on Thanksgiving while they wait for dinner. Or you enjoy these Thanksgiving activities during the month leading up to Thanksgiving the kids are bound to love them.
They will also give them a little handwriting practice without them even noticing 😉
Thanksgiving Coloring Pages
Coloring pages are a fun activity for kids of all ages. These cute Thanksgiving coloring pages are perfect for keeping kids busy at the Thanksgiving table or during prep. Plus, they’re also an excellent opportunity for kids to build some really important early learning skills without even knowing it.
Coloring pages give kids a chance to build their finger muscles, practice proper pencil grip, and develop the fine motor skills they’ll need for handwriting and proper penmanship later. Finger strength and dexterity are super important for good handwriting and kids can build the muscles needed when they spend time coloring.
Kids can also learn a lot about color identification, color mixing, lines, shapes, and patterns by coloring. That’s a lot of important early learning for sure!
Completing these Thanksgiving coloring pages will give your kids a sense of accomplishment and help to build their self esteem. Plus, they’ll be building important skills like concentration and attention to detail as they work to stay inside the lines and complete their coloring pages this Thanksgiving.
Do you enjoy coloring with your kids? It can be very relaxing. Share your favorite coloring memories and your favorite Thanksgiving memories with your little ones in the comment section. I can’t wait to read your stories!
