25 Summer Sensory Bins
The summer is a time of beautiful weather and relaxing days, but it can also be somewhat of an issue if you have a child with sensory needs.
It can be harder for young children to adjust to a different routine and schedule and some behaviors might be more noticeable in the summer as they are adjusting.
Sensory bins can be both fun and engaging while working fine motor skills and gross motor skills. We Love Sensory Play!
Encourage sensory exploration this summer by creating fantastic summer sensory bins for your kids. Perfect Summer Themes include oceans, ice cream, gardens, under the sea, pollution, the beach, and so much more.

What are Sensory Bins used for?
A sensory bin is a container or large tub/bin filled with materials. The materials that you use play a major role in the theme and idea of the sensory activity. Your materials and objects/toys should be chosen to stimulate and engage your child’s senses.

What is a Sensory Bin?
A sensory bin can be filled with almost anything; a few examples are water beads, water, sand, cloud dough, rice, ice, and more. You’ll also want to add mini figures, rocks, shells, animals, and anything else that goes with your theme. Sensory play can be used anywhere: at home, in classrooms, outside, and even while traveling.
Sensory bags, bins, and bottles will allow your children to explore, learn, discover, create, and imagine while engaging their senses and having fun.
Why is Sensory Play Important?
Sensory play includes any activity that will stimulate your child’s senses: touch, taste, smell, sight, body awareness/ any movement, balance, and hearing. Sensory experiences and activities also make it easy to explore things safely.
